Swansea Basin Canal - two boys

I happened across a perhaps centuries old scenario the other day at Swansea Basin canal. Two young boys trying to fish a ball out the canal. One had stripped to his underpants to dive in and get it. My mum who was with me intervened, worried that the potential diver might get Weils disease from the water if he got in it. She directed the still dressed one to get a big stick to hook it out. Eventually after a frustrating period of time, they did do this and retrieved the ball… only for one of them to trip over and accidently kick the ball back in.

We left them to it.
